What are the factors that determine the quality of black masterbatch?

First, dispersion: raw carbon black is a very difficult and dirty mixture, it is covered with dust, light weight, fluffy. Unless large-scale treatment measures are employed, it will stain machines and workers, making the working environment dirty

Second, rheology: if a masterbatch itself has good dispersion, but it cannot flow into the material to be molded, the production effect is not ideal. In general, priming resins used to produce masterbatches have high rheology. To save costs, some masterbatch producers use reused materials, scrap or recycled material as resin carriers;

Compatibility: If the masterbatch is produced using chips or recycled material, then it may contain contaminants or other non-meltable polymers. This can cause unpredictable and unrestrained trouble, wasting consumers' time and raw materials. At this time, the priming resin can be selected to produce high-quality masterbatches, and the masterbatches have good compatibility during the melting process. Excellent masterbatches can be produced using LLDPE, LDPE, HDPE, PP, PS, SAN, PA, and other materials
Fourth, stability: In today's international economy, it is necessary for international customers to have high requirements for the quality of masterbatches and the stable performance of raw materials, which is also the fifth factor that determines the quality of black masterbatches. A major manifestation of stability is the smooth ratio of carbon to black. If the percentage of carbon black fluctuates, then the number of masterbatches that need to be melted is not the same, and it is impossible to produce products of the same hue;

Coverage: This factor is especially important for masterbatches used for scrap or recycled polymers, where the role of black is to cover other colors in the waste. The coloring ability of large particles of carbon black is poor, and it is not easy to cover all other colors in the lower layer, and as a result, the product only gets a deviated color. In the melting process, the ability to correctly select carbon black with high coloring ability to cover existing colors is the so-called coverage force;

Sixth, color brightness: There are various types of carbon black on the market that can be used for the coloring of masterbatches, but the colors and prices of various types are also very different. Large particle carbon black has lower coloration and different base colors than small particle carbon black. Large black masterbatches are suitable for production such as garbage bag films, but not for products that are aesthetically important, such as television signboards or where UV protection is required, such as agricultural films or topical pipes.
