Introduction to Plastic Molding Process

The complete production process of plastic products is: plastic pretreatment, molding, machining, decoration, assembly. Plastic products often appear around us in life. There are dozens of plastic molding methods. How to distinguish the various molding processes?
Injection molding /Extrusion molding /Blow molding /Compression molding /Calendering molding /Roto-molding /Casting molding /Slush molding
Dipping molding/Casting molding/Hand lay-up molding/Winding molding/Injection molding/Vacuum molding/Transfer molding/Reaction injection molding.

The following commonly used molding processes are introduced in detail. From daily necessities to high-tech products, in the plastics industry, injection molded plastic products account for more than 80% of molding, and other molded products account for only 20%.

Single-shot single-color injection molding: Granular or powdered plastic is added to the heated barrel through the hopper of the injection molding machine. The plastic melts under the heat and enters the mold cavity through the nozzle under the pressure of the screw or piston of the injection molding machine. The plastic fills the cavity and is molded in one go after cooling and hardening. After demolding, a plastic part with a certain shape is obtained. This method is applicable to all thermoplastics and some thermosetting plastics. The product generally has only a single color.

Advantages of injection molding:
Short molding cycle. Plastic parts with complex shapes, precise dimensions, and metal or non-metal inserts can be molded in one go. Strong applicability to various plastics. Easy to achieve full automation.
Application areas of injection molding
Electrical appliances, engineering, culture and education, agriculture, daily life, etc.
