Functional masterbatches typically include color masterbatches, photoconversion masterbatches, high-efficiency insulation film masterbatches, anti-droplet masterbatches and degradable masterbatches.
Color masterbatch is a special pellet that colorizes plastic products. According to the coloring of plastic varieties, it can be divided into polyolefins, ABS, PS and AS. The production process of color masterbatches is usually divided into two steps: the first step is to prepare pigment predispersions, that is, surface treatment of pigments with dispersants or other additives; The second step is to mix the pigment predispersion with the carrier resin to pelletize the color masterbatch. The color concentrate is composed of pigments, dispersants, carrier resins and an appropriate amount of additives. The main function of the dispersant is to fully disperse the pigment, uniformly disperse it in the carrier resin and the matrix resin, and finally obtain plastic products with uniform color. The carrier resin used for the color masterbatch should first have good compatibility with the colored resin, and secondly, the fluidity of the carrier resin should be greater than that of the colored resin, so that the pigment can be better dispersed. The composition of the color masterbatch, the selection and amount of pigment depends on the nature of the colored plastic, and the pigment content in the color masterbatch commonly used for polyolefin plastic coloring is 20% ~ 40% (mass fraction).
